The project consists of developing an online news channel that reports non-biased, non-sensationalized news about the local communities in order to reflect the true experiences of communities. You will report on the “Unsung Heroes”, the positive stories of daily life, including reporting on problems these stories pose without resorting to exaggeration. It is a platform of grassroots journalism, gleaning news that largely remain unrepresented in the popular news media. The community youth will act as Community Youth News Journalist.
To sensitize children and youth about the rights that they are entitled to, particularly right to information and right to participation
To bridge the gap between mainstream news and community news
To change people's views and perception of unpriviledged communities
To have 24 hours functional news channel, specializing in grass-root journalism where community youth are spokesperson of their own communities; instead of outside people developing news for the sake of channel publicity, this News Network to be operated and functioned by professionally trained community youth themselves
To highlight stories of the youth and adults of the community, the problems and pressing issues affecting their daily lives
Developing a training session plan for capacity building of the entire team (Social Media management, accounting & finance and marketing & branding)
Creating dynamic written, graphic and video content
Developing a marketing strategy and designing promotional materials
Dynamic online channel content
Marketing plan including social media campaign to increase number of subscribers and viewership base of the YouTube channel, and promotional materials
Workshop content for capacity bulilding of the entire team and presentation to the Management team
Excellent communication and coordination within the team, empowering each of the members to activly paticipate in the workshops
